Our firm's reputation.
Morris & Dewett began in 2001 in Shreveport, Louisiana, founded by Trey Morris. The firm found its niche in personal injury law and earned its edge through trial preparation and litigation. As a plaintiff law firm, the initial challenge was succeeding against larger, more established firms and corporations. The key was preparation -- spending the time and money on experts, jury analysis, focus groups, and document review to force the defense to come to the table with a fair offer and necessary compensation. Good preparation lets opposing counsel know they cannot steamroll the little guy.
Every time you go to trial, your teeth get a bit sharper for the next one. With our firm, you do not have to worry about us using your case as practice. We have already been there. We have done it. Our teeth are sharp now.
Morris & Dewett has a reputation as a dedicated personal injury trial firm that works harder than anyone to win cases. Serving our clients is our highest calling, and we passionately advocate for their needs and interests. The injured -- especially victims of negligence -- have a story to tell, and we owe it to them to listen. Morris & Dewett is proud to help our clients tell their stories in their communities or in court.
We look at your case as a whole. Not just what has happened since the wreck or since the time your life changed -- but also what it is going to look like in the future.
We are trial lawyers.
Morris & Dewett Injury Lawyers is a recognized name in Louisiana, Texas, and beyond -- and that reputation was earned. We built our practice on thorough trial preparation and concrete results, not vague promises.
We prepare every case for trial. Independent investigations, expert witnesses, depositions, and mock trials begin from day one. We fund all case expenses internally and handle complex cases without relying on outside firms. Keeping everything in-house means it stays under our direct control and up to our standards.
Our trial record speaks for itself. We have secured multiple seven, eight, and nine-figure verdicts and settlements. Insurance companies recognize our name because we have proven we will take cases to trial when they refuse fair settlement offers. We prepare 100% of our cases for trial; only 5% require it.
Over half of our cases come from attorney referrals -- other lawyers send us the tough cases they cannot handle. They trust us to achieve results for their clients while treating everyone involved with professionalism and respect. We have received more than 2,000 five-star reviews across our office locations.
Our approach focuses on specific, measurable outcomes. We investigate thoroughly, negotiate based on documented losses including medical expenses and lost wages, and litigate when necessary.

Trusted by other professionals.
The legal industry recognizes our work. Martindale-Hubbell awarded the firm an AV rating -- its highest achievable honor. Super Lawyers and the Top 100 Registry have recognized our founders. We are also members of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, and our attorneys hold memberships in the American Association for Justice and the Louisiana Association for Justice.
Other attorneys send us their toughest cases because they know we will prepare, try, and win them.

Recognition and awards.
Martindale-Hubbell awarded the firm an AV rating -- its highest achievable honor from the organization. Several of our experienced attorneys are members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a select group that has secured at least $1 million for clients through successful settlements and verdicts.
Founding partner Trey Morris was named the 2023 Lawyer of the Year by the Top 100 Registry, an award highlighting the nation's best attorneys. Our founders are also part of Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers with a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
In 2026, eight Morris & Dewett attorneys were named to SB Magazine's Top Attorneys list. Trey Morris has held a continuous 21-year streak on that list since 2006.

How our firm helps clients.
In the wake of a severe accident, several important issues must be addressed. Victims often cannot focus on their or their families' recovery while handling the associated legal affairs. Morris & Dewett developed a legal workflow that navigates the legal complexities of bringing a case to completion. A priority in the process is communication and keeping the client fully informed. The burden is taken off the client without removing them from the loop -- it frees them to focus on their health, recovery, and family.
The process starts when a client retains Morris & Dewett. We go to work and relieve the client of the legal burdens while helping them gain proper medical attention. We contact the other party's insurance company, investigate the evidence in the case, contact all relevant witnesses, line up expert testimony, depose opposition witnesses, and ultimately bring the case to a satisfactory conclusion.
If you have been injured or been in an event that has set your life back, you need the advice and guidance of somebody who has been there -- somebody involved in those types of cases with the results to prove it.
