MOTHER SUES NEW ORLEANS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR EXPOSED LIVE WIRES ON TELEPHONE POLE

A mother is alleging that her son was hurt from the shock produced by live wires on an Entergy phone pole, and that the father was also hurt from the electrical current while trying to remove their son from the pole. Her personal injury claim is seeking damages for the pain and suffering they suffered, for lost wages, medical bills, and for disability. According to her suit, in August of 2012, her son came into contact with live wires on a pole, shocking both him and eventually his father. The claim maintains that the other parties were negligent in not preventing this danger on their premises and not even putting up warnings about this safety hazard. The mother is also alleging that the defendants did not adequately train workers in the upkeep and inspection of their equipment.

If a plaintiff (the personal filing the claim) can prove that they were harmed by negligence, then they may be owed damages. After all, if someone else is responsible for your accident, you should not be the one who has to pay the medical bills or to go without pay from missed days at work. It is not as simple as that, however. Even though all this may be true, insurance companies may be reluctant to give you the full coverage you deserve, or any coverage at all. If you file a claim against someone, there are a number of tactics they can employ to evade being blamed, and to reduce the amount of compensation they would be required to pay.

For this reason, you have to have more than a good case. You need to have a good personal injury lawyer on your side who can effectively establish your case, one who will be dedicated to tirelessly pursuing the full compensation that you are owed.
