Seth Blackledge is a native of Magee, Mississippi, and attended the University of Mississippi for his undergraduate education. After earning his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law, Seth went on to deepen his focus in maritime and admiralty law by completing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Tulane University School of Law, home to one of the top maritime law programs in the country. Upon completion of his studies at Tulane, Seth received the Edward A. Dodd, Jr. award in recognition of his outstanding achievement in the graduate study of Admiralty Law.
Seth began his legal career on the civil defense side, representing insurance companies, businesses, and professionals in a wide range of legal matters in both state and federal courts. This experience gave him a valuable perspective on how cases are built and defended from the defense – knowledge he now puts to use helping his clients at Morris & Dewett.
At the firm, Seth focuses on civil litigation, maritime law, and insurance-related matters. He’s known for being approachable, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to helping clients navigate tough situations with confidence and clarity.
When he’s not in the office or the courtroom, you’ll likely find Seth enjoying the outdoors, supporting Ole Miss sports, or spending time along the Gulf Coast.
“We focus on being the best at 3 things: preparing hard for our cases, making sure we deliver what clients need, and making sure they are treated well throughout the process.”
